Our Goals

Adapt.

Identify and respond to the emerging service needs of new refugees to Metro Vancouver, in particular Afghan arrivals and CUAET visa-holders.

Connect.

Across refugee-serving organizations and sectors in Metro Vancouver, share program improvement knowledge, increase cultural safety and awareness, and conduct research on promising practices.

Empower.

Enhance refugees’ ability to self-navigate Metro Vancouver’s housing, health and employment infrastructure by developing online informational, instructive, and illustrative resources.

Represent.

Engage local Afghan, Ukrainian and other new refugee arrivals in community feedback, resource creation, and decision-making activities.

Build.

Increase the human and operational capacity of organizations closest to new refugee communities by funding and training staffing positions within grassroots ethno-cultural organizations.

Stronger Together.

If you are a new refugee and/or support an organization that serves refugees in Metro Vancouver, please reach out to find out how to get involved in our activities. Together let’s get our communities #refugee ready.
